According to recent reports, accessing Social media on phones has overtaken usage on computers.
You don't need a browser, or even any internet connection on your phone to access Facebook anymore. Further, mobile users spend a lot more time than PC users on social networking sites.
HTC Salsa
The blue Facebook button is the first thing you notice about the Salsa. It's certainly not an awkwardly placed blue dot you might accidentally thumb over. It's also very Facebook - the backlit button pulses and blinks when something worthy of being Shared happens.
Press it once,and you can update your Facebook status, or share something with a Friend via the “Post to” box. A long press, and you're instantly at Facebook Places. Or, if you find an interesting website while browsing on the 3G/Wi-fi, press the button to instantly share the link. Even the music you're listening is not spared;song information can be statused instantly.
The phone's desktop widgets are also Facebook;instead of the default weather updates, you have a regular Friend Stream, along with a Facebook Chat widget. Photos can be automatically uploaded to Facebook if you enable it.
Vodafone 555 Blue
If there's a Facebook phone, can a budget Facebook phone be behind? That's the 555 Blue from Vodafone. QWERTY keypad, a decent 2.4-inch display, and a 2-megapixel camera.
It plays music (16 GB - expandable).
And it's very, very, Facebook. When you turn on the phone for the first time, you have to log into Facebook. Every 20 minutes, it refreshes your current Facebook information. The budget status also extends to the display. There's no 3G or Wi-fi either. Add that to the a 800MHz processor, and you 'll be irritated when you have to do more than updating your Facebook status.
Motorola EX 225
It's not here yet, and there's only one photo of it - but that's the power of social media for you.
Expected to be a feature phone with BREW (no Android), the phone's rumored to spec a 2.4-inch TFT-LCD display, a 3 megapixel camera, a five row QWERTY keyboard and the Facebook blue button/bump. Motorola's first Facebook phone is clearly playing it safe. And, with Google's takeover of Motorola Mobility, a Google + phone might have been a better idea.
BlackBerry Torch 9800
It's spacious, gorgeous and fabulous. it's also the first Blackberry to feature a physical QWERTY keyboard, along with a with a sliding multi-touch screen display, which makes a big difference when you're scrolling through tweets and updates.
The comfy backlit QWERTY keyboard, combined with the touchscreen Sure Type keyboard makes for a pleasurable typing experience. It also kicked off Blackberry's slow foray into better social media integration in phones.
INQ Cloud Touch
There is no point to buying the Cloud Touch if not for the social media. The enhanced Facebook widget feeds news, notifications and updates from Friends, and the phone uses Facebook's Social Graph API to simultaneously select and feed you more from your five most-contacted friends.
The INQ Cloud touch is also beautiful, in a feminine way - there's a reassuringly thick bezel design bordering the phone.
The Cloud Touch is synonymous with the Facebook phone tag because every tiny Facebook feature - News, People, Events, Notifications and Places has it's own live widget.
Even your Facebook Chat, Friends, Messages, News Feed, Notifications, Photos, Profile have their own direct app shortcuts.
Facebook's also woven into the phone.
Your regular Android calendar adds Facebook birthdays and Events from Facebook. Your INQ Contacts will include an extra tab for people who are on Facebook
